Recurring headaches? Try this therapy.
Uploading ....
I sighed as she said "I keep getting headaches, dad" for the umpteenth time.
Self-employed and slogging her guts out in the city; my daughter is an incredibly overloaded young lady. Her work has her running from pillar to post striving to keep everyone satisfied whilst having deadlines and taking a trip abroad every so often. This hectic timetable takes it demand on her well being as she rarely eats correctly and struggles with tension headaches regularly. As a result I often hear "I keep getting headaches, dad" when she comes round.
From "I keep getting headaches" to recurring, day to day headaches!
Just recently, these pressure headaches became a little more intense and a little more regular in addition to aspirin, paracetamol and complaints of "I keep getting headaches, dad". When nausea and soreness behind the eyes accompanied an intensification in job stress, I began to fret. Regular headaches just can not be a great sign!
When headache and nausea occur frequently, something has to be done. You do begin to despair, what if it is something significant, something much more sinister than just a headache? I had read online somewhere that recurring headaches could, and this is only a 'could' of course, signify cancer! Dreadful, dreadful thoughts of brain tumors could easily demoralize you if you let the stress get to you.
Taking on board nutritional advice and NHS suggestions was important but in the end pretty ineffectual. Virtually nothing seemed to help although our minds were set to rest about the cancer, which seems to be a very rare outcome.
Sports Massage as a headache remedy?
I don't know why I hadn't thought about it earlier but I eventually sent my daughter off to a local sports massage center to find out if they could help. The outcomes were stupendous! Evidently, they regularly help clients suffering from job overload and stress which induce recurring headaches!
I 'd used sports massage to overcome a dose of shins plints in preparation for the London Marathon in the past. It was a fantastic help and protected me from a potentially prolonged lay-off from training sessions. Currently, I'm definitely an advocate of sports massage as an important part of a realistic marathon training program, nonetheless using sports massage as a treatment for repeating headaches wasn't evident!
I no longer hear a plaintiff "I keep getting headaches, dad" whenever my daughter visits, this is now a thing of the past. Sports Massage has saved the day, my daughter's headaches are far fewer AND when they occur the symptoms are less drastic. A double whammy!
Naturally, my daughter is delighted. Even the fact that she can get a massage booked with just a call is a great help. In addition, they massage therapist has provided her with some suggestions to help keep the headaches at bay. The massage itself, which focusses on the shoulders, neck and head is divine, apparently! And I'm the hero for suggesting she go in the first place, which is a much better sentiment than that of a plaintiff "I keep getting headaches, dad"!
